Najlepsze słoneczne miejsca na emeryturę w Europie 2026
Praktyczny ranking słonecznych europejskich destynacji emerytalnych.

Six European destinations dominate the serious-retirement shortlist in 2026: the Algarve, the Côte d'Azur, the Costa Blanca, Cyprus, Malta and Madeira. Each scores differently on the five things that actually matter at retirement: climate, healthcare quality, tax treatment of pension income, English-language infrastructure, and total cost of life. There is no universal winner — the best answer depends on which two of those five you weight highest.
The Algarve, Portugal — the safe consensus pick
Why it wins on the consensus: 300+ days of sun, world-class healthcare (private + EU public after residency), a NHR 2.0 framework that still favours qualifying foreign-pension recipients, English spoken everywhere on the coast, and the most mature international-retiree community in southern Europe. Trade-offs: summer crowds, rising prices in the Golden Triangle, peripheral airport (Faro, no major hub).
The Côte d'Azur, France — the no-compromise choice
For retirees who refuse to give up city access, cultural calendar and a serious international airport, the Riviera is unmatched. Public healthcare is top-tier (CHU de Nice, Princesse Grace in Monaco), Mediterranean climate is reliable, and a 75+ retiree network exists in Cannes, Mougins and Beaulieu. Trade-offs: highest cost in Europe at this latitude, French wealth tax (IFI) above €1.3M real estate, French income tax on foreign pensions unless treaty-relieved.
Cyprus — the tax-led choice
300+ sunny days, English as a working second language, 5% flat income-tax rate on foreign pension income, and the Non-Dom regime for the first 17 years of residency. Healthcare modernised significantly with GeSY since 2019. Trade-offs: cultural depth is thinner than Iberian options, the property market is less liquid, and the Larnaca / Paphos airport network is comprehensive but not premium.
Madeira, Costa Blanca, Malta — the niche picks
Madeira: best year-round mild climate in Europe (18–24°C all year), small Portuguese island culture, NHR 2.0 applies. Costa Blanca (Jávea, Moraira, Altea): the Dutch/Belgian/UK retiree default, lowest cost in the group, Alicante airport, but increasingly crowded. Malta: English official, low income tax (15% under the Residence Programme), but small island fatigue is real after 2–3 years.
